Yesteryear Collection

Founded in 1938 by 20-year-old Harry Workman, Cotteswold Dairy began as a small 30-gallon-a-day milk round. Along with a Morris 8 van, milk churns and bottles, he delivered door to door using a bucket and ladle. Built on strong values of quality, service, and cleanliness, the business quickly earned a trusted reputation.
Rapid growth led to a move to Cotteswold Road in Tewkesbury in 1943, giving the dairy its name, followed by expansion into Cheltenham in 1961 and relocation to its current Northway Lane site in 1969. Harry’s son, Roger Workman, formally joined the business in 1962, took over in 1982, and oversaw significant expansion through the acquisition of other independent dairies.
In 1991, the third generation joined when Roger’s son, George Workman, began working across all areas of the business. He became Managing Director in 2010, continuing the founding values.
Today, Cotteswold Dairy operates four depots across the UK, supplying wholesale, retail, independent milkmen, and doorstep delivery customers, including traditional electric milk float deliveries.
